So another typical Poya day passes. Unfortunately, as usual their was class and most of my day was wasted cause of this. Since exams are less than 40 days away, its an absolute must to attend classes these days, with revision being done and also so that last minute tips on all variety of questions that might come up on the dreaded exam paper can be noted down. I think its absolute injustice that whenever Poya days come up our lecturers in SL whatever part-time degree that they teach always look for the public holidays to put us in deeper misery!! (As if work wasn’t already killing us!! Thank got I’m still on my annual leave!!)
Beside that, yesterday turned out to be a disappointing day for Sri Lanka on the cricket field. Having recovered so well while batting and posting a competitive total, we just lost in the middle of the Indian innings, thanks to some superb batting by Yuvraj. Their were lot of notable moments in the whole match including Yuvraj’s batting, Sanga’s brilliant hundred (Kudos to him for rescuing the team and then helping post a good total!!), Malinga’s first ball wicket of Sachin and also Vaas’s brilliant slow ball yorker to dismiss Yuvraj. The last two instances were true bits of magic, Malinga’s ball was truly awesome, just a length ball pitching around middle and off and going on to hit the top of offstump. Here’s the clip from YouTube..
Sri Lanka U19 ’s have won their opening to matches against Nepal and Namibia and now play Australia on the 22nd.
I happened to watch the Liverpool vs Inter Milan last night or rather early morning at 1.15 a.m. Anyways it was a great atmosphere at Anfield with Liverpool supporters backing their team the whole 90 mins. Liverpool were certainly spurred by the cheering and took the game to Inter, although Inter were defensively very well organized. Unfortunately for them, Materazzi (Yes, Zidane’s good old friend!!) managed to get himself sent-off for twice tugging on Torres jersey, although the bookings were too harsh Inter had to play 75 % of the match with 10 men. In the end this led to their downfall, where the Reds scored 2 goals in the last 5 mins courtesy of Kuyt and Gerrad. Gerrad’s goal was truly awesome, a shot from outside the penalty box finding its way through a couple of Inter defenders and to the right hand corner of the keeper’s post.
Today, the mouth watering game between AC Milan and Arsenal will be taking place in the Emirates Stadium. It’ll be the youth of Arsenal against the experience of Milan. Hopefully, Milan can go for a win here or at least a draw since they have the quality and capability to win away from home. Hope, Pato plays at least as a sub, and Kaka, Pirlo and Seedorf weave their magic around the Gunners!! Gattuso will have to keep a close watch on Fabregas.
At No Way Out, Undertaker and Triple H won their respective Elimination Chamber matches, and both will head to Wrestlemania to contest for the Titles of their respective brands. Undertaker will be taking on Edge, the man who stole his title earlier this year and also cost him several title opportunities. Triple H wil be challenging Randy Orton for the title and after this week’s Raw, the match will be a Triple Threat featuring fan favourite John Cena as well. This is due to Cena beating Orton for a title shot at Raw. Most of the No Way Out Clips are out on Dailymotion check them out here.
Happened to watch Season 4 of Lost just before posting here, and i must say the story is really getting really interesting now. It seems the rescuers aren’t actually their to rescue the survivors but for another reason (better watch it, wouldn’t want to spoil it on the post). Hopefully, will be downloading episode 3 during the night while wait for the Milan game to start on Zee Sports.
Well, will looking to spend rest of the week studying with the occasional game of Frozen Throne or catching a movie during Dinner or Lunch. Waiting to get my hand on the National Treasure:Book of Secrets movie, being patient till the original copy gets out. Hmmm…., time to have some dessert to keep myself up today.
